Content Design and Editing: E-Commerce

A long-term project in a large international team, where my role was to review, correct and adapt translated content (over 350,000 words from English into Russian). Main topics covered: e-commerce, online marketplaces, guidance and rules for sellers and buyers.

Great team experience, and an excellent opportunity to see MT integration in real working conditions.

COSINES Pi

Third prize at the International Contest of simultaneous and consecutive interpreters COSINES Pi

How useful is a legal instruction if it is a machine translation?

My work environment is being increasingly shaped by machine translation. To better understand the use and implications of this new instrument, I did a research project under guidance of a university professor specialised in translation technologies. In order to evaluate the usefulness of MT, I was able to organise an experiment (many thanks to all 80 participants!). For me as a professional translator and interpreter, the results of the experiment were surprising and encouraging.

Logistics and reporting

Translating official legal and finance documentation (Russian>English, German) for a major Russian logistics company. The main challenge: Russian Accounting Standards terminology.

Client’s feedback: “Our experience shows that Mrs Walcher has an exceptional level of expertise, which enables her to provide reliable and accurate translations at all times – even in last-minute matters. We are extremely satisfied with this collaboration.”
